X Plane is a flight simulator for PCs by Laminar Research. It is able to customize scenery and aircraft.

Unlike previous flight simulaotrs, X-PLane uses blade element theory. This breaks the plane model down into various parts, each having their own statistics. This is in contrast to previous flight simulators which had information for planes as a whole. This allows easier design of aircraft by users of the program.

X-Plane has been certified for use in some flight simulator training.
